Two Years of the Bottle Weight Accord
Two years on,the Sustainable Wine Roundtable’s Bottle Weight Accord (BWA) brings together 20 leading wine companies, covering more than 2.5 billion bottles—around 9% of global wine sales. To date, the Accord has helped mitigate an estimated 440,000 tonnes of CO₂, demonstrating the power of industry collaboration to deliver sustainability impact at scale.
Latest additions to the Accord signatories include Bodega Beronia, Domaine Bousquet, Ellis Wines, Guy Anderson Wines, and the Société des alcools du Québec
Commenting on SAQ’s decision to join, Marie-Hélène Lagacé, Vice President of Public Affairs, Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility at SAQ, said:
“We are pleased to join this agreement, as it reaffirms our commitment to working collaboratively toward reducing our industry’s environmental footprint. We remain steadfast in our ongoing dialogue and cooperation with industry partners in pursuit of shared objectives—objectives to which we have been committed for many years.”
