From Principles to Practice: How to join SWR’s Sustainable Viticulture Protocol and next steps
Launched in the summer of 2024, the Sustainable Viticulture Protocol (SVP) provides a collaborative framework for vineyards transitioning away from chemically intensive farming. Designed to be flexible, the protocol allows participants to adapt practices to their unique terroir while adhering to shared guiding principles. The ultimate goal: significantly reduce chemical use in vineyards and promote the adoption of regenerative practices that respect local environments.
In this session, SWR Executive Director Tobias Webb and SWR Operations Manager Delaney Sheridan are joined by Anne Bousquet of Domaine Bousquet to share progress from the initial SVP research, which focuses on reducing chemical impacts in the wine sector. Together, they’ll explore how the protocol is being put into action—from holistic vineyard approaches that restore ecosystems to practical steps organisations can take to join and contribute to meaningful change in sustainable viticulture.
